Back to school

Well I am officially in my late 20's. Thank you to everyone that helped make my birthday special. I really appreciate the birthday cards and wishes. Thank you to my sister and dad who sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers!! That just made my day. Well the first official week of grad school has slapped me in the face. I seem to be keeping up so far. However, I have not had any papers due yet.

I have still managed to find some down time and work on a few things. I have decided to make some headbands and burp cloths for all of the baby showers I have coming up. The flower part for the headband was easy the actual headband not so much. The burp cloth has been very difficult because one of the fabrics is very stretchy. With a little practice I will figure it out. Here are some pictures of my trial runs!! I think Grandma would be proud! I sure do miss her especially for things like this.

This is the headband I made for Noelle and the pretty flowers I got for my birthday from my sis and dad!

August

Well August has flown by!! It is hard to believe I will be turning 25 for the 3rd year in a row!! I had a long week of classes for work for a promotion called "Partner" and my PNP orientation.

The big events for August: Mallory moved to Texas and Beth Zakrzewski's bachelorette party is tomorrow.

I realized that I may be in over my head going to school full time and working full time. But I am going to just see how it goes. The amount of reading I have to do is inhumane and the amount of papers and discussion board postings is also pretty crazy!! Every second of my free time for the next two years will be doing homework.

Here is a picture of the required books for one semester of graduate school. (This does not include there recommended texts, just the required) Also one of my first assignments is to read the Introduction and Preface to the book (who actually reads that) and write about it.

I finally made it home for a night to visit with my dad. Who I have not seen since the new year. Way too long!! I am going to have to go home more often to eat like this!!

Here is a picture of the project I have been working on with my 2 weeks school free time. I am trying to make some rosette headbands and burp cloths. I will have plenty of practice for my sister Katy's baby shower by then!! Especially since I know she is having a girl (this is not confirmed by anyone but me and her husband).

Last but not least, here is your funny picture for the day. Please have a sense of humor and an open mind.

Have a great and safe weekend everyone!! Pictures from the party coming soon!

CHANGE,LIVE,GROW

It has been too long since my last post. Plus I have some exciting news. Katy (Zakrzewski) and Mike Shuttz are expecting a baby!! She is due around April 2012. The happy couple is so excited!! So is our family. We can not wait to have another baby!!

Here is the happy couple last August!! :)

Maddux turned 2!! It was an awesome dinosaur party. I have never seen so many toys at a birthday party! more pictures to come!!! He is getting so big. It was such a change from his 1st birthday to his 2nd. It is amazing to see him grow and change!!

I have mixed emotions when I say this. I am sad, excited, and happy to announce Mallory is moving to Austin, Texas in 10 days!! I am sad because I am switching to weekends and she will be too far away for a visit for the day. I worry because it was a quick decision and I can't run down and help her if she needs it. That is an older sisters job to worry, fix, and advise. I probably will not see her until our cousin Jimmy's wedding in October or Christmas. While now I can see her in 2 1/2 hours! She got into Texas State nursing school!! This will be the first time she will be living in an apartment on her own. She will do great! She will be moving down there for her love Cody Adams. Learning about this made me stress out. Adam and I are people that have their whole lives planned out, from when we will have a baby to when we will buy our next home (granted we have had to revise our plan along the way). That is just how we are. The most spontaneous decisions I make are to buy an expensive piece of clothing. My sister is a free spirit. She learns as she goes, and enjoys the ride along the way. Sometimes I wish I could be more like her and not worry so much about my life plans. I guess that is what makes us so different. She is my sister and I love her!

The star is where she will be attending school. Not too far from the beach!
