I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Hello!! Another semester has begun. I keep hearing the song crazy train in my head all the time. It must be the theme song for my semester. Adam and I will both be in school this semester. It will be a busy house of homework, work, and healthy meals on the go.  On Mondays, every other Thursday, and Friday I will have clinical at the doctors office. On Tuesdays and the Thursdays I'm not at the doctors office I will have class. Then I work every Saturday/Sunday. (Don't forget I have homework on top of this)

We were invited to 10, yes 10, weddings this year. If we can not make it I am sorry, this is just a crazy time in our lives!! I just feel like I am getting a lot of pressure from family and friends to meet their expectations and participate in these important events. Please understand that I have been working on this since preschool and I am so close to being done.

I promise I will be a better friend, wife, nurse, daughter when this is over!!

I can not wait for fall!! Pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider! One of my favorite times of the year!! Anyway I hope you guys all have a great September!!

I have missed you

Hello! Finals are over!! I do not go back to school until August 21st. There are still no grades. This semester has been the most difficult semester by far. I hear it is only going to get harder. I drop down to 2 12's a week August 12th to make time for my 12 credit hours, and 16 clinical hours, and homework. I get 4 weeks off (kind of)! We have done so much this summer!! We extended the deck and did some landscaping. We actually have grass in the back yard!! Yay!!

My sister in law Beth and sweet nephew and her husband moved to Pittsburgh. My sweet niece Emma is getting so big.

I only have 10 months of school left (297 days). Only 42 more saturday/sundays I have to work!
We have baby birds!!

Greatful

I think with all of the distractions in life, our lists of countless chores for the day, and the added stress we put on ourselves we forget to put things into perspective. There has been a lot of sadness for the people that are a part of my life. This sadness really makes me take a step back and realize that I am living life in fast forward, trying to get to the next step. Everyday I have a task list of things to do and I bypass calling those that are important to me or spending time with the people that matter to me. I keep saying "one more year". One more year has turned into 10 years of trying to get to where I want to be. For this I have been missing important events. This year has taught me so much. Most importantly you never know how much time you have with the people that you love. It does not matter how healthy you are, how often you go to church, or the type of person you are. It is so important to be grateful for what you have and every day with the people you love. I have 11 more months of my life dedicated to living from a to-do list and then I am done. I am so grateful for the people in my life, and my absolutely strong, encouraging, kind husband. I am so sorry for the loss that my friends, coworkers, and classmates are experiencing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones. -Meg

Coffee

Here is a beautiful story I found from another blogger: When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar… and the coffee… A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.” The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. “Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.” “If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.” One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

New Car....Not

Well I had a great week home. I was not as productive with my homework as I should have been. Mom and I did get one scarf done. Dad and I did a little car shopping and research. I got to see our friends Sunday night for about an hour after work at a super bowl party. Other than that midterms are coming up and I need to study for my quiz tonight!! Here are some pictures of the scarf I (we) made. It is navy blue and cream...

Have a great week,
Meg
