Hello 219

I am back in town until Friday! It is always so nice to come home but I feel so busy trying to see everyone and going to Chicago with my mom and I have to fit in time to run and for homework, then it is time for the 2.5 hour drive home. Mom and I have some sewing projects to do all inspired from Pinterest.com!! Hope everyone has a great week!

24 hours with a Toddler

Adam and I had our first over night stay with Maddux. It went great!! He is so funny and full of energy. It was a blast being able to spend that much time with him. On Tuesday we went to the Children's Museum (with Val and Noelle) and on Wednesday we went out to breakfast, to toys r us for some new cars, and then to Monkey Joe's which he had a blast at. Our house is not child proofed at all, so we did the best we could by zip tying our cabinets shut as an extra precaution. I feel like after working in the PICU you can never be to careful!! I will post pictures soon!!

Happy Friday

What a productive Day

Here is my daily dose of motivation

It is amazing what you can do with an unexpected day off. I have almost all of my weekly patho homework finished and I got to spend some time on pinterest.com. The best website there is!! Here is what I found......

I really want to put in some sort of closet organization system. Our closets are a single shelf mess. We wont take on this project for some time, but it is fun to plan!! Here are the pictures I found:
For the sides of the master closet

I like the back of the closet for the back of our master closet

This is the best idea EVER!!
I can spray paint the PVC pipe and make it look amazing!!
Love this idea instead of the classic towel rack!!

What a happy landscaping idea for around trees!!

Now if I could only win some HGTV show to get all of this done.......

Mandatory Sunday

I have not determined yet if I should Love or Loath mandatory days off from work. I know everyone has to take their turn when we do not have enough patients. I just wish we had more than an hours warning so I could do something fun the night before especially since I work every weekend I have absolutely no life outside of school, work, and the gym. It would have been nice to spend some time with friends!! Well now I will spend my extra time off working on Patho. Hopefully I do not have to go into work at 3. It kinda stinks driving 45 min each way to work 4 hours.

Happy Sunday

Strength and Motivation

Wednesdays with Maddux

This Wednesday Adam and I spent the day with our sweet little nephew Maddux. We had a lot of fun and we were completely worn out at the end of our day. We learned cheerios must be in the toilet for him to pee, trees are tall, and it is very difficult to say the name Phoenix.....but it makes us laugh!! He was a bundle of energy that made us laugh all day!! We had a blast and we can not wait to spend time with him next week.

Happy Weekend!!

Dear Graduate School

Dear Grad School,

When I started this semester I was under the impression that it would be easier than the last. However, you led me astray by allowing me to take Pathophysiology and Pharmacology together. I was wrong when I assumed that just because I took these courses as an undergraduate that they would be easy this time around. Moreover, I was not anticipating actually spending 3-4 hours a day reading. I feel a little disappointed and misinformed. I guess I that means I will not be watching any of my favorite TV shows this winter. Just so you know.....I will win!!

Love,
Meg

Cheers to a Cancer Free 2012

Hello! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. Ours flew by and now its on to another semester of school. This semester is Pathophysiology and Pharmacology. Its a 3 in one kind of deal Patho has 2 parts a lecture and a seminar(clinical) and thankfully Pharm only has one part!! Pay special attention to the size of my large mug and the size of the dictionaries that are assigned for these classes. They say it is expectation that we spend 21-35 hour a week studying on top of working and trying to find some time to sleep. It should be fun semester....I say that now.
(Thank you Karyn for the coffee cup!!)
The past couple of months have flown by and I have spent a lot of my time at home (Valpo) or in Chicago. I have tried to spend some spare time over Christmas break making scarfs and burp cloths but that has been unsuccessful.

Here are some pictures from the 96th floor of the Hancock Building from last week.
For those of you that don't know it costs 15.00 to ride to the top of the Hancock building just a few floors above the 96th floor, for essentially the same price you can have an amazing lunch and see the same view a few floors down.....

Looking down.....

Looking Up....

Mallory came into town on Christmas Eve, it was so wonderful to see her and spend time with her. Unfortunately we did not get to meet her beau Cody, hopefully next time.

Our good friends the Bozovich's welcomed their new baby Brooklyn Kate into the world in December. Congratulations to them and Hopefully we get to meet her soon!!

We.....by that I mean Adam finally got our master bathroom painted!! Its a beautiful gray/beige color. The only room left to paint is the work out room.

I talked to our nephew Maddux on the phone yesterday. He is getting so big with such a sweet little personality. It seems like yesterday he was born and now his cousin baby girl Shuttz will be here in March!! It is so exciting to watch our family expand and see Maddux grow up into such a wonderful sweet little person. We can not wait to meet our new niece!!

I just wanted to give a special thanks to everyone for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for my family over the holiday season. People are truly amazing!! Also I am truly grateful for my Aunt Sandy and Liz Frances for being amazing people and spending their Holiday at Northwestern in the waiting room making me laugh.....you guys have absolutely beautiful souls and you are amazing friends and we are so grateful to have such wonderful people in our lives :) .
